Looking for Alaska Week of: 11/11/13

Prompt: • Evaluate the quality of writing
-create the movie poster
Pages: 51- end

I finished reading Looking for Alaska. I won't give the ending away. I was about to stop reading this book because I thought that it was silly at one point. I thought that it was just teenagers pulling dumb pranks on each other. Yes, they do that but you have to keep on reading because there's more to it. I highly recommend this book for everyone (don't give up on it!)

What makes this a quality book is that it's well written. John Green, as I might have said before, is a magnificent author. The way he writes makes me want to continue reading his books, even if I don't like the plot. I can fully understand Looking for Alaska unlike other books. For example, this is common in fantasy for me. When I'm reading a fantasy book, by the middle of it, I don't understand what I'm reading. It's like the author waits to throw important information until the middle of the book.

I made a movie poster for Looking for Alaska. I put an important quote, "if people were rain, I was drizzle and she was hurricane." By "she" they mean Alaska. What the quote is trying to say is that Pudge is a pretty chill and normal guy, so he's drizzle, while Alaska is wild, making her a hurricane. I thought that it was important to put a quote in the advertisement because it will give people a hint on how the characters may be. I put a sky because it's relaxing and I thought that it would fit the title.
