Will Grayson, Will Grayson: Week of 10/21/13

Prompt:
Pick the phrase from what you are reading that made you think. Interpret what
the author meant.
Summarize what you read
Pages: 52-112
**I'm going to call Tiny's friend Will Grayson, Will Grayson 1 and the other Will Grayson, Will Grayson 2***

"I feel like my life is so scattered right now. Like it's all these small pieces of paper and someone's turned on the fan. But talking to you makes me feel like the fan's been turned off for a little bit. Like things could actually makes sense. You completely unscatter me, and I appreciate that so much"

I don't know if someone has ever felt this way with someone else. It doesn't always have to do with someone you're dating or married to. You can feel this way towards your best friend or your parents. I think what they meant by this part is that even though life can be pretty tough, there's one person that can really help you make life a little better. I suppose I can relate to this. Sometimes my life can feel like it's all over the place, it's a bit confusing (not hard, I'm not complaining) but my friend helps me through it and makes it seem less confusing. "I appreciate that so much." Their presence can just make things seem less stressful and the atmosphere seems happier. Can anyone else relate to that passage?

In the last pages I read, I learned that there's two Will Graysons. The thing is, they don't know about each other. Will Grayson 1 was going to go to a concert with his friends. They ask for identification cards but they're underaged so they got fake cards. Tiny and his friend get in since they are used to the process of using fake I.Ds while Will Grayson 1 gets kicked out. Not knowing what to do, he decides to go to a shop. Meanwhile, Will Grayson 2 is supposed to meet Issac, the guy he met online. They decided to meet up in the city but Will Grayson 2 was late. Still looking for Isaac, he goes to the shop and that's where he meets Will Grayson 1.

The conflict in this chapter is when Will Grayson 1 was going to the shop, he used his fake ID but when he made his purchased, he used his real debit card. The cashier became suspicious and asked him what his real name is. When the cashier asked if he was Will Grayson, Will Grayson 2 asked the cashier if they called him. I predict that Will Grayson 1 is going to get in trouble because they'll think he stole the debit card.

  2. I kind of relate to Gabe's comment because I do feel my life is scattered. I feel this way because I have to worry about my family, school, personal life. I like how you used textual evidence to support your prompt. Thanks for the recommendation! -Abdiel

  3. I liked the way you wrote your blog this week! You made it interesting, but you didn't give a lot away. You gave a lot of textual evidence to support your reasoning. Great Blog!

  5. I can totally relate to this phrase. Sometimes life can be confusing and you just don't know what to do and it helps that other people can relate, too. I can really see why you like this book, Athziry. I definitely want to read this!

  6. That phrase you chose, it contains so much emotion and truth to me. I know I myself have always been a bit closed to talking to adults and others or sometimes I feel confused, but I know that at the end of the day my friends will help me sort out the perplexing game that is life.
