Article of the Week Impressions

This week was a much more diverse than previous weeks. Typically, we hear about a new country that ISIS has decided to attack. What was different this week is that we learned that they are targeting young girls to leave their homes and join ISIS. One girl, Aqsa Mahmood, is kind of the girl in charge of recruiting even more girls. It's really scary how teenage girls would leave their homes to join such group.

What I really enjoyed this week is that there were some pretty positive articles. There was one article that showed that scientists have created a vaccine that could cure Ebola in monkeys. This is a big step and maybe the world doesn't have to worry about Ebola as much. Another thing was that the UK has unveiled their first lagoon power plant. This is really good for the earth because this will reduce the use of oil for power. I hope to see more positive changes for the world in the future of our AoWs.

  1. Athziry,
I really enjoyed your AoW Impressions Blog. I like how you mentioned that there actually were some positive articles this week! Most of the articles have been extremely negative, and this week, there were multiple that actually made me feel like the world is getting it's act together! I also liked how you formatted your paragraphs, as you had a nice balance of talking about what you learned, your own opinion, and an overall topic of feeling you got after learning about all of the different articles!
